Athens Map: Best Things to See and a Perfect Walking Route

Interactive map of the 23 must-see spots in Athens with the best walking route, plus day-trips to Glyfada and Cape Sounion.

Here’s every Athens must-see on one map — plus a walking route that actually works on foot. The blue line follows real streets and pedestrian lanes (not as-the-crow-flies straight lines), starting up at the Acropolis and looping down through Plaka, Anafiotika, Monastiraki, Ermou and Syntagma. It’s about 12 km if you do the whole thing, so pick the stretch that suits your day.

The blue, purple and brown pins are the walkable core — sights, museums and the spots where Athenians actually eat (Kostas, Thanasis, the Varvakios market, loukoumades at Krinos). The two 🚗 markers, Glyfada beach and Cape Sounion, are short trips out of the centre rather than part of the walk.

Tap any pin for walking directions, opening hours, or to check tours and tickets. You can also save the whole route to your phone with the 💾 KML button, or open it straight in Google Maps.
